Liu Xiaoming is a Chinese diplomat currently serving as ambassador to the United King-dom. Between 2001 and 2003, Liu acted as China’s ambassador in Egypt, and from 2006 to 2010 as Chinese ambassador in North Korea. In 2010 he replaced Fu Ying as Chinese ambassador in the UK.

Alderman Charles Bowman is the 690th Lord Mayor. He is a senior partner with PwC and Alderman of the Lime Street Ward and served as Sheriff of the City of London in 2015/16. He joined Price Waterhouse in September 1983, qualified as a chartered ac-countant in 1986 and was admitted to partnership in 1995. His main area of specialism has been delivering audit and capital market transaction ser-vices to large listed and multi-national companies – acting as Lead Partner and Global Relationship Partner for a number of PwC’s key clients. Partnership roles have included setting up and leading PwC’s audit and assurance practice looking after the firm’s FTSE 100 and larger listed clients. Other leadership roles have included Non-Executive Direc-tor of PwC’s Tax Practice, leading the firm’s Building Public Trust programme and act-ing as the partner responsible for the firm’s Senior Networking Programme.

Jin Xu is minister counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office of Chinese Em-bassy in UK. Between 2002 and 2009, Jin acted as Deputy Director General of the De-partment of American and Oceania Trade Affairs, MOFCOM, and from 2009 to 2014 as President of Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), MOFCOM.

SUN Yu is the Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK (CCCUK), and the CEO of Bank of China (UK) Limited. Previously, he was the General Manger of Global Markets in Bank of China Hong Kong from 2012 to 2014 and before this, Mr Sun held a number of senior roles across Bank of China Group, including Deputy General Manager in BoC Shanghai Branch, Deputy Gen-eral Manager in Securities Investment, Financial Markets Units and Global Markets in BoC Head Office and, Head of Portfolio Management Division in Treasury Department in BoC Hong Kong between 1998 and 2012.

Sir David was appointed Ambassador to South Korea in 1990 and four years later re-turned to London as Deputy Under Secretary of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. From 1996 to 1999 he was appointed Ambassador to Japan, a post which he left to become Chief Executive of British Trade International, which promotes British exports and inward investment. He retired in 2002. After retiring from HM Diplomatic Service, Sir David Wright joined Barclays Capital, the investment banking arm of the Barclays group, as Vice Chairman where he is respon-sible for banking client relations in Asia-Pacific and Barclays links with UK government and other public entities. He is also Vice-President of the China-Britain Business Council, a member of the International Advisory Board of All Nippon Airways, and a Governor of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He is the current Chair at the Korean British Business Council.

Gregory Hodkinson has spent most of his professional career at Arup and is a passionate believer in Arup’s mission to ‘shape a better world’. His professional experience is primarily in the planning, design and project management of transport infrastructure, which he has undertaken throughout the world.  He has more than 40 years’ experience in large-scale projects, including the Sony Centre in Berlin; Darling Harbour Development in Sydney; Terminals 2,3,4,5 and 7 at JFK Airport, as well as the Fulton Centre and Second Avenue Subway in New York.

Gregory joined Arup in 1972, having been inspired by the firm’s work on the Sydney Opera House. He led the firm’s expansion in the USA from 1988 as a founding Principal of the New York office. He became Chairman of the Americas Region in 2004 and in 2011 moved to Milan to lead the firm’s European business. He was appointed Chairman of Arup Group in 2014.

In addition to his work with Arup, Gregory is a member of the International Advisory Board of British American Business, the Advisory Board of the China–Britain Business Council, the Infrastructure & Urban Development Industries Governors Steering Committee, and Chairman of the Future of Urban Development & Services Steering Committee at the World Economic Forum. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Gregory is a former Trustee of WaterAid, an international charity dedicated to bringing safe drinking water and sanitation to the world’s poorest people and a former Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.

The China markets strategy and research leader of ICBC Standard Bank, Jinny was a London-based Senior Economist at Standard Chartered Bank. She covered key China-Europe macro topics with a focus on Renminbi internationalisation. Her previous econo-mist roles include covering China (2008-11, based in Shanghai), Europe (2013-14), and supporting the Chief Economist (2011-13). Heading up the European RMB Solutions team (2014), Jinny chaired the Education and Marketing stream of the City of London’s Renminbi initiative. Widely recognised as a China and Renminbi expert in London, she makes frequent appearances in media and at high-level conferences.

Jeff Cao is Head of Asia Pacific at London & Partners, the Mayor of London’s economic development and international promotional agency, attracting and delivering value to businesses, students and visitors. Based in London, Jeff is responsible for successful run-ning of London & Partners’ operation in Asia Pacific. An established professional with over twenty years of experience, Jeff has a strong track record of advising world-class corporate clients on market entry strategies, competitive positioning, influence mapping and relationship building, and deal facilitation. He has cross sector experience, particularly in retail, pharmaceutical, FMCG, telecom and finan-cial services.

Ehrman joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Diplomatic Service in 1973, and has had postings in Beijing, New York, Hong Kong and was British Ambassador to Lux-embourg from 1998–2000. Ehrman was the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s director general for defence and intelligence between 2002 and 2004, before becoming British Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China from 2006 to 2010. Ehrman gave evidence to The Iraq Inquiry in No-vember 2009. Ehrman was educated at Eton College, a boarding independent school for boys in Eton in Berkshire, followed by Trinity College at the University of Cambridge, from which he graduated with a first class degree in Mandarin Chinese.

Nikhil was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of LSE Plc in September 2015. He also has Group-wide responsibilities for International Development. He is a member of the LSEG Executive Committee.

He joined LSEG in May 2014 as Director of International Development and Chief of Staff from the UK Treasury, where he held a number of senior positions over an eleven year period. Most recently he was Director of the Financial Services Group, representing the UK Government’s financial services interests in the EU and internationally.

He served as the UK representative on the EU Financial Services Committee. Prior to that, he was Head of the Financial Stability unit, overseeing a number of the UK’s financial stability interventions during the crisis. Nikhil also served as Private Secretary to the UK Prime Minister for three years from 2005 to 2008.

Peter Lu is a Counsel in the firm’s M&A Corporate Practice based in London and leads firm’s China practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and corpo-rate governance, advising clients across a wide range of industries, including consumer, energy, infrastructure, transportation and financial institutions. Peter was seconded to British American Tobacco for six months in 2010. He is regularly asked by clients to act for them on their M&A transactions and corporate governance issues. Peter is a post-graduate supervisor at Peking University and teaches M&A courses at Chinese and for-eign universities.

Mr. Lord Wei also known as Nat, is a founder at The Shaftesbury Partnership. Prior to this, he is the founding member at TeachFirst and Maker Wharf. Prior to this, he served as Government Advisor. He started his career in technology at Mckinsey & co. He is a social entrepreneur with an avid interest in social reform. He serves as the Chair-man at Green acre Capital Ltd and joined it in 2014. Prior to this, he served as Member at House of Lords.?He served as fellow of the Young Foundation and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. He holds a graduate degree from Jesus College, Oxford.

Gerard Lyons is a British economist and writer. He is an expert on the world economy, global financial markets and on economic and regulatory policy, focusing on international banking. Lyons was the co-founder of ‘Economists for Brexit’ and played a leading role in the UK European Union Referendum. From January 2013 to May 2016 he was Chief Economic Advisor to the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. Prior to that, Lyons spent 25 years in the City, most recently as Chief Economist and Head of Global Research at Standard Chartered Bank.
Currently, Lyons is Chief Economic Strategist at Netwealth Investments. Additionally, he is a Senior Economic Advisor to Parker Fitzgerald and a Board Member of the Bank of China (UK) Limited.

Dr. Linda Yueh is Fellow in Economics, St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford, and Adjunct Professor of Economics at London Business School. She is also Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics and was Visiting Professor of Economics at Peking University. She is also a broadcaster and the author of numerous books; the latest being: The Great Economists: How Their Ideas Can Help Us Today.

Kerry Brown is Professor of Chinese Studies and Director of the Lau China Institute at King’s College, London. Prior to this he was the Professor of Chinese Politcs and Director of the China Studies Centre at the University of Sydney. He led the Europe China Re-search and Advice Network(ECRAN) funded by the European Union from 2011 to 2014. He is an Associate Fellow on the Asia Programme at Chatham House, London. His main interests are in the politics and society of modern China, in its international relations and its political economy.

Gordon Luo joined Huawei UK and Ireland in October 2013 and took up the role of Chief Executive Officer in February 2014.

Prior to moving to the UK, Gordon was CEO of Huawei Nordic Region from 2011, based in Stockholm. As CEO of Huawei Nordic Region, Gordon was responsible for leading Huawei’s businesses and operations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. During his two years in the role, he led a team that delivered strong growth in carrier infrastructure, as well as growing the business into new areas such as service, enterprise and consumer devices.

Gordon joined Huawei in 2005 and has extensive experience in sales business development and key account management. Gordon’s first role at Huawei was with the Huawei Vodafone Business Unit in Madrid, working as the key account manager to develop the UMTS project for Vodafone Spain. From 2007 Gordon was the General Manager of the Vodafone Spain Account and in 2009, he took up the role as the Global Key Account Director of the Huawei Vodafone Business Unit.

Prior to joining Huawei, Gordon worked for Siemens Mobile in China as key account sales for the domestic telecom market.
