Second, the acquisition and investment projects completed in the UK have played a positive role in promoting China-UK trade and economic cooperation. Third, the CCCUK actively participate in public welfare activities and support Chinese associations in promoting Chinese cultural activities, helping promote communications between China and the UK.<\/p>\n The 19th National Congress of the CPC ushered in a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and opened a new course for China’s development, bringing new opportunities for the development of China-UK relations. In the new year, I hope that the CCCUK seize new opportunities, realize new developments, and achieve three \u2018Number Ones\u2019. First, to create a \u2018powerful backing\u2019, support \u2018the Belt and Road\u2019 initiative and protect Chinese enterprises conducting business in the UK. The strong cohesiveness of the CCCUK allows members to find a sense of belonging and of \u2018building a business together\u2019. The diversified service model allows members to feel the real value of \u2018interoperability\u2019 of the CCCUK\u2019s platform. The diverse membership of the standing committee and its strong willingness to serve its members allows members to experience the CCCUK\u2019s core concept: \u2018win-win\u2019.<\/p>\n I hope the \u2018China-UK Economic and Trade Forum\u2019 becomes a new platform in the era of \u2018Brexit\u2019 and \u2018the Belt and Road\u2019 initiative, where new opportunities are being explored by people in politics, academics and business. I also hope the Forum becomes a new highlight of the CCCUK for promoting China-UK cultural communications, and economic and trade cooperation.<\/p>\n Being the chairman of the CCCUK is not only an honorary title – it also means responsibility.
